Reggie Rockstone has sent a reply message to dancehall act Shatta Wale for saying he has made no impact with rap music in Ghana.
According to the veteran rapper, Shatta Wale’s claim comes as an absurd one, considering the fact that he (Shatta Wale) started as a rapper.
Shatta Wale was asked about his opinion on the current beef between Sarkodie and Asem. In his reply, he stated that he was disappointed in Sarkodie for releasing a diss song in this trying times and emphasized that he blames Reggie Rockstone for introducing that genre in Ghana, saying that he (Reggie Rockstone) has made no impact with rap music in Ghana.
In a reply to Shatta Wale via his Instagram page, the hip-life grand papa as he is affectionately called noted that Shatta’s claims are unfortunate, considering that he started as a rapper during his Bandana days.
He said dancehall music in Ghana has just two big names (Shatta and Stonebwoy) but rap music has birthed lots of big names since its introduction, noting that even the biggest name in Ghana music at the moment is Sarkodie, a rapper.
In his 8 minute long video, he advised Shatta Wale to critically examine his claim, since rap music is far from being dormant in Ghana music.
