Two people killed in shooting on Brantwood Court in Sampson County

Two men were shot dead in the parking lot of apartments in Roseboro in Sampson County late Saturday night, deputies said.

The incident was reported as gunfire at 11:30 p.m. at Brentwood Court Apartments, located in southern Roseboro, according to a news release from the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office.

Upon arrival, deputies found two male victims in the parking lot with gunshot wounds.

Deputies worked to help rescue the pair until paramedics arrived, the news release said.

However, live-saving efforts were unsuccessful and both men died at the scene, officials said.

Frederick Dixon, 46, of Pine Street in Roseboro and Leo Dixon, 40, of Pitchfork Lane in Salemburg, were identified as the pair who died, deputies said.

“Currently, no further information regarding a motive or suspect is available,” the news release said.
