Adolphus Wong, her father, was an American-born doctor who worked for Kaiser Permanente for 30 years.

She graduated in 2000 from San Francisco University High School, where she served as class president.

Career
After graduating from college, Wong did her first stand-up at Brainwash Cafe while she was 23 years old, and moved to New York City shortly thereafter to begin her comedy career.
