Shelbyville police pulled Davis over around 3 a.m. on Interstate 64.
He initially stopped at the Simpsonville exit but was quickly linked to the Springfield murder through an alert from Kentucky State Police. Davis, 23, is a Milwaukee resident.
Investigators revealed that Davis was fleeing after a bank robbery in Wisconsin the day before. They suspect he was attempting to evade capture by heading south.
