An overnight shooting in Columbus has left one person dead, according to authorities.
The shooting occurred in the 7300 block of Sorrel Court, the Columbus Police Department said in a social media post.
The victim has been identified as Sonny Chambers, 42, according to Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan. Bryan said Chambers was shot by a family member after a domestic dispute.
Chambers was pronounced dead at 1:55 a.m. Thursday at the scene.
The Columbus Police Department is asking the public to be on the lookout for a murder suspect.
Police say Quentez Thrasher, 22, is wanted in connection to the deadly shooting of Sonny Chambers, his stepfather on early Thursday morning at Sorrell Court.
