Songs Which Featured Shatta Wale And Stonebwoy Wasn’t Nominated
Event organizers for the annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), Charter House has set the record straight about songs which featured dancehall acts Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy not getting nominations in this year’s awards scheme.
According to the event organizers, those songs wasn’t nominated because they didn’t make it to the final list of songs which had to be considered and not necessarily because both artistes were banned.
Charter House released the full list of nominees for this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) over the weekend and it has already started generating controversial statements from the public.
Per the nominations released, no song of Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale made it to the list, including songs they featured on.
In an interview monitored by ghlinks.com.gh on Sunday, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Charter House, Robert Klah stated on Showbiz Live on Live Fm that the two dancehall acts didn’t get nominations because of their ban which is an indefinite one.
However, they weren’t intentionally snubbed on songs they featured on but rather those songs didn’t make the list because there were other songs that topped the rankings after the board met.
“Once the ban affects the two, we cannot nominate them as artistes, but that is not the issue because the focus was on whether the songs were able to make it or not,” he said.
