Ramon Clark: Bloomington man identified as victim of deadly shooting in Urbana

A Bloomington man has been identified as the person who died following a shooting in an Urbana home early Saturday morning.

Urbana Police said Saturday night that there have been no arrests and they’re asking for the public’s help to learn more about Ramon Clark’s death.

Police said the 44-year-old man was found in a residence in the 1100 block of Fairview in northwest Urbana.

Police were called to the scene about 3:50 a.m., and Clark was pronounced dead at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana about 50 minutes later, according to Champaign County Coroner Stephen Thuney

Police said in a release that officers continue to canvas the neighborhood for witnesses and video footage. Investigators are asking residents and businesses in the area with outside surveillance camera systems to contact police.

The coroner said an autopsy on Clark’s body is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 28, and an inquest may be held at a later date.
