Quentin Gordon: Wichita police identify man shot, killed near Harry and Oliver

Police have identified Quentin Gordon, a 27-year-old man who died following a shooting in southeast Wichita on Tuesday.

Officers responded at around 9:30 p.m. to reports of a shooting in the 4800 block of East Funston, near Harry and Oliver. They arrived to find the unresponsive victim with a gunshot wound and attempted lifesaving measures.

The victim, Quentin Gordon, died at the scene.

Investigators were remained on scene overnight speaking with witnesses and piecing together what happened. Capt. Aaron Moses said preliminary findings suggest Gordon was involved in an argument with another person when he was shot. It’s not believed to be random.

No arrests have been announced.

“The investigation is ongoing as homicide investigators work diligently to follow up on leads and locate a suspect,” Capt. Moses said. “Acts of violence, especially those resulting in fatalities, have a profound impact on our community.”

Gordon’s death was Wichita’s 15th criminal homicide of 2024.
