Nicole Baker (born 4th April ) is a Texas-based news anchor for American television network CBS.
The Emmy-nominated news anchor for CBS News Texas has nearly 10 years of experience working in newsrooms across the country, including CNN.
Early life and education
Nicole Baker was born and raised in Philadelphia, her father’s hometown, but it was her mother’s Georgia roots that helped her grow into what she calls a true “country-city” girl.

Career Beginnings
Nicole’s love of journalism was inspired by her uncle, a well-known Philadelphia radio host.
He encouraged her to try television, and she’s never looked back.
She started her first on-air job just days before her uncle passed away.
In 2013, she was a full time anchor and reporter at WJFW in Rhinelander, Wisconsin.
While there, she reported on the snowiest winter on record in Rhinelander and exposed one of the area’s largest nursing homes as it provided improper care to its residents.
She also wrote articles for The Huffington Post from August 2012 to September 2013 on a freelance basis.
Between 2015 and 2018, she served as the morning news anchor at Hearst Television.
Nicole Baker joined the CBS Texas team in May 2022, after nearly four years as an anchor with CBS in Baltimore.
Prior to Baltimore, Nicole spent nearly 10 years in newsrooms across the country including CNN.
As a proud member of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ), Nicole is honored to represent female journalists in the industry.
As an active legacy member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, she is also excited to get involved in the communities she serves now, here in North Texas.
Personal Life
Nicole is a big sister to two younger brothers and a “dog-mama” to two mixed poodles, Jackson and Nas.
When she’s not entrenched in the news of the day, she loves reading, deconstructing documentaries and solving true-crime podcasts.
In her free time, Baker enjoys spending time near water, playing tennis, and exercising.
She has relatives in Arlington, San Antonio, Elgin and Killeen.
