A tragic shooting occurred on Friday afternoon at a Walmart in Lumberton, North Carolina.
The victim, 42-year-old Brandy Olson, was fatally shot near the Woodforest National Bank inside the store located at 5000 Fayetteville Road.
Authorities confirmed that the suspected shooter fled the scene immediately after the attack.
The Lumberton Police Department is coordinating with the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office and federal agencies to investigate the case.
A press conference is expected soon to update the public on the investigation.

Police are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact Sergeant Blake Harrell at 910-671-3845. Witnesses or anyone who may have seen suspicious activity around the time of the shooting are encouraged to come forward.
