Priceville Police say a woman was killed in a shooting early Sunday morning.
The shooting happened on Langley Pvt. Drive near Priceville around 5 a.m. Sunday.
Police identified the victim as Kimberly Ricks, 33, of Falkville.
Police say officers arrived at the scene to find Ricks suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She later succumbed to her injuries.
According to Priceville Police, a male at the scene was temporarily detained and later taken in for questioning.
That person has since been released pending further investigation.
Authorities say the incident appears to be isolated and there is no ongoing threat to the community.
Police say they’ll release more information once interviews and evidence processing is concluded.
