Keyon Thomas and a woman, 19, were in a car in the 9600 block of South Green Street about 5:37 p.m. Monday when two people with handguns approached and shot them, police said.

Details of what happened

On Monday, June 3rd, 2024, around 5:37pm, Chicago Police responded to calls of 2 people shot on 96th & Green.

When they arrived, they found Keyon in the driver seat of a car with gun shot wounds to the head, chest, & waist, he was rushed to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he was pronounced 0-1-1-0 (Deceased).

An 18-yr-old girl was in the front passenger seat when she was shot in the neck & head, she was rushed to Christ Medical Center in Critical Condition.

CPD says the 2 teens were sitting in a car with 2 other female teens, when two offenders approached them and fired shots before fleeing the scene on foot.

CPD has no suspect in custody as Area 2 Detectives are investigating.

Keyon had just graduated High School a few days ago.

The 18-yr-old girl is still in ICU, the family is asking.
