The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division is currently investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred in Decatur Tuesday night that claimed the life of a Hoover firefighter.
The victim has been identified as 23-year-old Hoover firefighter Justin Phillip King.
According to reports, King was driving on High 31 near county road 9 in West Blount County when his motorcycle left the roadway and crashed into a utility pole.
King was launched from his vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
King was a firefighter with the Hoover Fire Department and the Center Point Fire District.
Center Point Fire Chief Brandon Dahlen, King was following the footsteps of his father, retired Center Point firefighter Johnathan King.
