According to lawandcrime.com, Police were called to the scene on Stable Brook Way on February 24th after receiving a 911 call from Juliana Peres.
When they arrived, they found Ryan dead from gunshot wounds and Banfield dead from stab wounds.
Upon arrival, officers found Ryan suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper body and a woman, Christine Banfield, 37, of Herndon, in an upstairs bedroom suffering from stab wounds to the upper body.
Officials later said the initial 911 calls were made by Juliana Peres Magalhaes and Banfield’s husband, according to police.
Through forensic evidence and multiple interviews, detectives determined Juliana Peres Magalhaes fatally shot Ryan, and that Ryan and Banfield knew each other.
It is unclear if Ryan stabbed Banfield, according to officials.
At the time, Fairfax County Police Chief Kevin Davis said there was no home invasion. An FCPD spokesperson reiterated this point while speaking to news outlets.
Davis also initially said, that the homeowner, Banfield’s husband told police that he shot a man inside his home and had just stabbed his wife.
Davis wouldn’t identify the husband but said the woman was stabbed to death.
WJLA pressed the department to clarify the previous report and officials said the case is still under investigation.
A four-year-old child was also found unharmed inside the home, police said. Banfield’s husband was outside the house at the time of the incident, and officials made no immediate indication that he would face charges.
