Joyce Bawah Mogtari is a Ghanaian politician, lawyer, Special Aide to former President John Dramani Mahama, and the younger sister of former Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Otiko Afisa Djaba.
In February 2013, Joyce Bawah Mogtari was appointed as the deputy minister for Transport after the December 2012 general election.

She had her secondary school education at Wesley Girls’ Senior High School/
Joyce Mogtari later proceeded to Holborn College, the University of London, to earn a degree in Law in 1997.
She holds a Master’s in Maritime Law from the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) International Maritime Law Institute (IMLI) in Malta, where she received an IMO Legal Committee Chairman’s Award for Best Overall Performance in International Transport Law.
In 2000, she was called to the Bar.
Politics
In 2016, she served as the Communication Director for John Mahama’s electioneering campaign team.
She is a proud member of the National Democratic Congress.
Career
Before serving as a deputy minister in 2013, Joyce worked with Sey & Co. legal firm and later became a consultant for KPMG and the Venture Capital Trust Fund
She was the Head of the Legal Unit of the Ghana Shippers’ Authority.
Joyce is a member of the African Women Lawyers Association (AWLA), the Women in International Shipping and Trade Association, (WISTA), and the Ghana State Alumni.
Personal life
Joyce Bawah Mogtari is married to Hudu Mogtari, a former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA).
She recently gave birth to triplets.
So far, the couple is blessed with four children – a son who is the firstborn and the new addition of triplets ( gender unknown ).
