Jimmy Mashburn, Akron Coach and Educator Tragically Dead in Car Accident

James ‘Jimmy’ Mashburn, an intervention specialist at Stow-Munroe Falls High School has died, friends revealed.

Mashburn’s death occurred in a car accident according to reports. The Akron, Ohio resident was remembered in numerous tribute posts on social media.

“So sad to hear the news today!! Jimmy Mashburn was always the one of the nicest guys and he will surely be missed,” one post read.

Jimmy Mashburn graduated Coventry High School in 2010 and attended Stark State College off Technology and the University of Akron, where he got his Bachelor of Education in 2018.

Mashburn is intervention specialist for Stow-Munroe High School, a position he’s held since August 2022.

He was previously intervention specialist at Green Local Schools.

Previous roles include Mild/Moderate Intervention Specialist at Stow-Munroe Falls High School, Warehouse Supervisor at the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank and a Warehouse Worker at the House of LaRose, according to his LinkedIn.

Jimmy was married to April Lynn and they had two kids.
