Legendary talk show host and former Cincinnati mayor Jerry Springer has died, a family spokesperson announced Thursday morning.
He was 79.
Before he died on Thursday, the iconic talk show host Jerry Springer made his final television appearance on The Masked Singer.
Springer wore a beetle costume on the FOX game show when he was eliminated in October 2022.
In a clip from the episode posted to YouTubeThe crowd quickly began chanting the star’s name once his identity was revealed.
The judges sang his praises, but Springer remained humble.

According to multiple media reports, a family spokesperson said Springer had been diagnosed with cancer a few months ago and his condition worsened this week.
He died at his home in the Chicago area.
Who was Jerry Springer?
Springer started his career as a lawyer and later served as mayor of Cincinnati from 1977-1978.
He also ran for election to the U.S. Congress in 1970.
But the 79-year-old was best known for hosting “The Jerry Springer Show,” in which guests loudly, and at times violently, meted out their own brand of justice over 27 seasons.
In 2019, Springer got a new TV role as “Judge Jerry,” where he heard testimony and rendered verdicts before a studio audience.
