Jenna Lynn Cox, 28; Cyndi Marie Cox, 61, and Charles Kevin Cox, 61 were found when police responded to “a reported shooting” at a North Carolina home, according to investigators in Catawba County. The suspect, 27-year-old Issac Nathaniel Christenbury, was found 40 minutes after the shootings in nearby Lincoln County and arrested.

Three bodies — and one unharmed child — were found when police responded to “a reported shooting” at a North Carolina home, according to investigators in Catawba County.

The triple homicide was discovered around 7:45 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, at a residence on P.J. McRee Road in Maiden, police said in a news release.

Maiden is about a 37-mile drive northwest from Charlotte.

A suspect in the shootings has been captured and investigators say he “had previously been in a dating relationship” with a woman who is among the three people killed. “Arriving officers located three deceased adults with gunshot wounds.

Also in the residence at the time of the shooting was a juvenile who was physically unharmed,” police said.

“Officers received information that a passenger vehicle operated by the suspect had left the scene immediately after the shootings.”

The dead include: Jenna Lynn Cox, 28; Cyndi Marie Cox, 61, and Charles Kevin Cox, 61, police said.

The suspect, 27-year-old Issac Nathaniel Christenbury, was found 40 minutes after the shootings in nearby Lincoln County and arrested with the help of the N.C. State Highway Patrol and the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, officials said.

Christenbury has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder, police said.

“Investigators have learned that the motive for this incident possibly stemmed from a dispute between Jenna Cox and Christenbury,” police said. “The facts of the investigation indicate Christenbury acted alone.”
