James Valdez: Motorcycle driver killed after striking debris on Interstate 10, hitting guardrail

A 44-year-old man from Vidor is dead after his motorcycle struck some debris on Interstate 10 in Orange County, causing it to hit the guardrail, according to information the Texas Department of Public Safety provided.

The DPS identifies the victim as 44-year-old James Valdez of Vidor.

Witnesses reported the crash at 9:25 p.m. Monday on Interstate 10 East near the 877 mile marker, close to Adams Bayou in Orange County.

The DPS preliminary crash investigation shows Valdez was driving a 2001 Yamaha motorcycle and traveling east when he struck some debris in the roadway, which caused the motorcycle to crash into the guardrail.

Valdez died at the scene.,
