A family dispute outside The Passage apartments left one woman, Isis Glee, dead and three others injured.
Goose Creek police responded to Underwood Lane in Summerville just after 11:30 a.m. on July 14, police chief LJ Roscoe told reporters outside the complex early that afternoon.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene, and three other family members were transported to an area hospital, Roscoe said.
She could not immediately give further information about the status of the injured people.
Other family members who witnessed the shooting helped police identify the suspected shooter, who is in custody, Roscoe said.
The suspect was one of the three people who were injured in the shooting, Roscoe said.
She could not immediately give more information on how the suspect was injured. Their identity has not yet been released.
This was an isolated incident, Roscoe said. There is no threat to the public. The investigation is active and ongoing.
About a dozen police cars and tape still block off the scene of the crime from the rest of the complex. Clothing and other evidence are visibly strewn across the grass.
Police officers have responded to the apartment complex in response to attempted car break-ins, but there is “not a lot of crime” that takes place at this complex, Roscoe said.
One resident agreed. Barbara Estevez, who has lived at The Passage apartments for a year, said the shooting is out of character for the complex.
