Ghanaian reggae and dancehall music sensation, Samini has said he no longer gets emotional about whether or not he wins awards and just focuses on doing what he does best.
The prolific artiste disclosed this on Accra based Hitz Fm on Thursday.
In an interview monitored by ghlinks.com.gh, the singer told host Andy Dosty that he has been in the music industry for quite a while now and has experienced his fair share of joy and pain when it comes to winning awards.
He said as far as awards go, he has a number of them and understands the emotional thrill it comes with for up and coming, reigning and veteran artistes.
Using himself as a case study, he said it would come with mixed feelings should he still be too vocal on winning awards. “I think I’ve been around for too long. I’ve experienced a lot of award shows for too long to be emotional about awards at this level”, he said.
Samini further established that he nominations in itself at his stage still means a lot and tells him how relevant his works are and to him, that is something he can work with.
