Stonebwoy has let the cat out of the bag about the whereabouts of the plagues he won at the 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards after he was ordered by organizers to return them.
According to him, he hasn’t returned the plagues to Charter House as instructed.
The dancehall musician voiced this out in an interview with Accra based Fm station, Hitz Fm on Friday.
After the brawl that involved him and colleague act Shatta Wale broke out, the two of them according to sanctions invoked on them were banned indefinitely from participating in the awards scheme by the VGMA board and were directed to return the plagues they won to the organizers of the awards scheme. For months now, a section of the Ghanaian populace have had the question of whether the awards have been returned to organizers or not on their minds.
As monitored by ghlinks.com.gh, Stonebwoy told host Andy Dosty that he has not returned his plagues because he feels that the directive was disrespectful from Chatter House. Explaining his reason further, he said he won the awards out of voting from his fans and not by merit and that even after the brawl broke out, he apologized immediately and stayed through till the end of the program amidst security threats and as such, it isn’t fair on his side to undergo such harsh sanctions.
“I haven’t returned them. It’s double disrespect to even carry the plague again and go to Chatter House. I didn’t come and steal the awards. My fans voted. I voted. My image was used to promote the awards”, he said.
