Elmina Sharks held Kotoko to a goaless draw at the Accra Sports Stadium as the Porcupine Warriors drew blanks in thier Matchday 14 encounter.
Kotoko huffed and puffed but couldn’t break the Elmina Sharks resistance as the Central Region side held on for a valuable point.
In a game that was even, both sides had chances to win it but at the end of the day, both teams will settle for a point each.
Kotoko started the game the better side with William Opoku Mensah and Enmanuel Gyamfi getting in behind the Sharks defence.
The best chance of the half fell to Augustine Okrah who missed an open net after an Opoku Mensah cut back.
Kotoko continued from where they stopped after the break, with Martin Antwi coming close.
Sharks also came close with Augustine Owusu and substitute Benjamin Bernard Boateng both missing sitters.
Sogne Yacouba came on for Kotoko and almosy made an impact, with his ferocious shot tipped over the bar by goalkeeper Lord Bawa.
At the end, both sides settle for a draw. Kotoko now sit third on the Ghana Premier League table, 2 ooints off leaders Aduana Stars.
Elsewhere, it was a feast for the phobians in the Mantse Derby as Accra Hearts of Oak wallopped Accra Great Olympics 4-0 in the 7pm fixture on Wednesday.
Hearts took the lead through a Joseph Esso effort in the 16th minute of the first half. A brace for midfielder Bemjamin Effutu in the second half gave Hearts a 3:0 lead before Daniel Afriyie Barnieh scored late to complete the rout. The goal was Daniel Afriyie’s first of his Hearts Of Oak career.
At Sogakope, A Yahaya Mohammed header in the second half gave Aduana Stars a very important win away at WAFA.
