German football legend Franz Beckenbauer has died at the age of 78.
The World Cup winner died on Sunday, his family have confirmed, as tributes from the world of football flooded in.
The German football icon had five children with his three wives – four boys and a girl.

Franz Beckenbauer’s children are Stephan, Thomas, Francesca, Joel & Michael Beckenbauer.
Stephan Beckenbauer
Stephan Beckenbauer was Franz’s first child. He was born in 1968 and died in 2015 of a brain tumour and was also a footballer.
Stephan played for Bayern Munich as well in their reserves squad.
During his 11-year career as a pro he also played for TSV 1860 Munchen, Kickers Offenbach, and FC Grenchen.
Thomas Beckenbauer
Thomas Beckenbauer was born in 1963.
He is the founder of SwAM Swiss Asset Management AG and served as its director until July 2014.
His many years of international experience in the field of wealthy private clients, including at Hypo Vereinsbank in Munich and Luxembourg make him an accomplished professional.
At the beginning of his career as a financial expert, he trained as a banker and worked for several years as a self-employed businessman.
Michael Beckenbauer
Michael was his third son.

In 2000, Beckenbauer’s first daughter Francessca was born.
Joel Beckenbauer
Joel Beckenbauer was born in 2003.
