Eric Carr, a resident of Iowa and father of two who worked at Principal Financial Group, tragically passed away on February 18, 2025.
Reports indicate that his cause of d*ath occurred while he was waiting to pick up his son from school.
He was found unresponsive in his vehicle at the end of the school day as children were being dismissed from Mitchellville Elementary School.
According to Mitchellville Fire Chief Mike Twohey, a child noticed the unresponsive man and alerted a nearby adult, who immediately called for medical assistance.
Sadly, Eric passed away at that time despite their efforts to help.
The community, along with his friends and family, is mourning the loss of Eric. His passing has left a profound void, affecting everyone who knew him.
Eric’s kindness and presence touched many lives, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all fortunate to know him.

Eric Carr was originally from Altoona, Iowa. He attended Southeast Polk High School and then studied Criminal Justice Administration at Grand View University.
Professionally, Eric worked at Principal Financial Group and served as a board member and vice president of SEP Dollars for Scholars.
