Togolese striker Emmanuel Adebayor has been quarantined in Coutonou, Benin after transiting in the African country on his way to Ghana.
Emmanuel Adebayor who now plays in Paraguay, joined Club Olimpia during the winter transfer window moving from Turkish side Kayserispor.
The former Arsenal, Real Madrid, Manchester City striker has been in the news in recent times, in the early stages of his career in Paraguay.
With the Paraguayan league on hold due to the COVID 19 pandemic, Emmanuel decided to move to Ghana to spend time during the break. However, he has been held in quarantine in Benin, after transiting at the West African Country.
Reports haven’t really given an indication of how long he is going to remain in Benin but with the country recording 2 cases of the global pandemic, stringent measures have been taking to stop the spread and indications show that he will be there for some days.
Adebayor spent 5 years at Arsenal and became a hit in the English Premier League after a brilliant spell at the Emirates.
He then joined Manchester City in a controversial transfer that sparked a rift between him and many Arsenal faithful.
Now seeing out his career at Olympia in Paraguay, the 36-year old will be hoping to resume his campaign in the Portuguese league after this is over.
