Actress and television personality, Efia Odo has hit hard at the Nana Addo led NPP government for failing to patronize the Mahama’s affordable housing project at Ningo in the Greater Accra Region.
According to the actress, it comes as a shame in difficult times as these when the homeless need a place to lay their head and government also needs isolation centers to help fight COVID 19.
The Mahama led administration before leaving office started an affordable housing project at Ningo where they were expected to complete but failed to do so. The project per reports was a 1500 housing unit which was expected to reduce the housing deficit in Ghana to 1.7 million. However, since the new government took charge of office, the project which was near completion has not seen any face lift.
Taking to her official twitter handle to address the issue, Efia Odo questioned why every issue in Ghana was politicized. According to the actress, the housing project could have been home to some homeless people and even be used as isolation centers amidst the COVID 19 crisis, indicating that Ghanaian leaders will the country a good deed if they avoid he unnecessary politics. She tweeted;
“Housing and hospitals left abandoned. Buildings that can be used to house hundreds of homeless people. Why are they not in use? It would be amazing if our leaders come together for our citizens of Ghana. Our people deserve better”
