Daytona Beach man dies after motorcycle hits road obstruction in Holly Hill

A Daytona Beach man died Thursday after he was thrown from his motorcycle when it hit a piece of wood on the road, police said.

David Nolan was traveling on Ridgewood Avenue and Second Street at the time of the accident, according to an email from Holly Hill Police Chief Byron Williams.

Nolan was thrown from the motorcycle and died at the scene, Williams wrote.

Nolan’s age was not available.

Nolan was not hit by any other vehicle, Williams wrote. The vehicle from which the obstruction came stopped, he wrote.

Williams wrote the investigation was continuing and no other information was available.
