Darius Campbell Danesh has died at the age of 41, his family announced.
The Scottish singer-songwriter and actor rose to fame when he appeared on Popstars back in 2001 with a memorable performance of Britney Spears’ Baby One More Time.

In 2011 Darius Campbell married Canadian actress Natasha Henstridge – famous for her role in 1995 Sci-Fi horror Species.
They had first dated in 2004 and had an on-off engagement until 2010 before finally tying-the-knot on Valentine’s Day the following year.
The pair filed for divorce in July 2013 – but were spotted kissing during a romantic dinner in August 2016.
Prior to getting married they split briefly in 2010 but reunited after just five months and got engaged soon after.
What was Darius Campbell’s cause of death?
On August 16, 2022, a statement released from Campbell’s family confirmed the star’s death.
The statement from his family read: “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Darius Campbell Danesh.
“Darius was found unresponsive in bed in his apartment room in Rochester, Minnesota, on August 11 and was pronounced dead in the afternoon by the local medical examiners’ office.
“The local police department have confirmed that there were no signs of intent or suspicious circumstances. The cause of his sudden death is unknown at this stage while medical examinations continue.
“We ask that you kindly respect our wishes for privacy at this time whilst we come to terms with the tragic loss of our son and brother.”
A cause of death is yet to be confirmed.
