34-year old motorcyclist killed in Salinas crash

Salinas Police confirmed one person was killed in a crash Thursday evening. The County of Monterey Coroner has identified the victim as 34-year-old Danny Garcia of Salinas.

Salinas police said one person died after a vehicle versus motorcycle crash Thursday. This is the second deadly crash in Salinas in a week.

The crash was reported around 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of East Laurel Drive and Maryal Drive.

Salinas police say that the motorcyclist was speeding eastbound on East Laurel Drive. The driver of a Honda made a left turn in front of the motorcycle to drive south on Maryal Drive.

The motorcyclist was identified as 34-year-old Danny Garcia of Salinas.

A passenger in the Honda sustained minor injuries, per police.

Impairment is not suspected in the crash.
