Cornelius Neal McDonald, Victim of Jaspers Shooting Identified as Community Leader & Activist

Cornelius McDonald, an activist and motivational speaker in his local community has been identified as the victim of the recent shooting at Jasper’s in Lake Arbor MD.

Neal was killed in the shooting that occurred in the area of 9600 block of Lottsford Court, Jasper’s Restaurant just before 1 a.m. on Friday, November 29th, 2024.

Police arrived at the area to find a man suffering from a gunshot wound and pronounced him dead on the scene. Investigations are ongoing.

Distraught family and friends identified the deceased as Cornelius Neal, also known as Cornelius McDonald.

“Prayers going out to my family especially my Aunty Marcella Lee on the loss of her God Son Neal who she damn near raised…Cornelius McDonald .. He was killed last night at a restaurant/club in Maryland…This is so devastating,” Kisha Laster shared on Facebook. “He was a permanent figure in his neighborhood did a lot of things for the community. He was an activist and he loved his family ..Prayers for his family and his son…”

Another post from an FB user who witnessed the shooting furiously called for Jasper’s restaurant to be shut down to ensure such violence ensues no more.

“So apparently this is the gentleman I witnessed last night fighting for his life as a result of a senseless act of crime!! RIP Cornelius Neal 🙏🏽😔 Prayers to the family and friends of this young man! JASPERS IN LARGO needs to be SHUT TF DOWN!!!” Bee Butler wrote.

Cornelius McDonald of Washington D.C., was an entrepreneur, actor, singer, community activist and motivational speaker.

He graduated Eleanor Roosevelt High School in 2010 and was previously of Largo High School.
