Kufuor and his NPP government collapsed Concert Party – Mr. Beautiful

Mr. Beautiful claims former President John Agyekum Kufuor collapsed the popular ‘Concert Party’

The filmmaker is accusing the former president of taking decisions that eventually destroyed Ghana’s best comedy show ‘Key Soap Concert Party’.

Mr. Beautiful stated that Kufuor’s New Patriotic Party never showed interest in the arts.

He argued that the former President appointed Eva Naa Marley Lokko as the Director-General of GBC and she doubled the sponsorship money required of advertisers.

The actor said this made the main sponsor for the programme, Key Soap, lose interest and leave.

“When President Kufuor came he collapsed Concert Party. Do you know what he did? When Former President Kufuor took over, he appointed a certain woman called Eva Lokko at GBC”, Mr. Beautiful said on UTV.

Key Soap Concert Party on GTV in the 90s and early 2000s was one of the best TV comedy shows in Ghana.

The TV program also saw the rise of actors and comedians like Agya Koo, Akrobeto, Bob Santo, Mr. Beautiful himself among others.
