A 15 year old boy identified as Collin Courtwright was one of the victims killed during a shooting involving a drug deal.

The shooting happened about 2 p.m. Monday.

Police received a call from a nearby subdivision where friends said two of the victims ran after being shot.

Police said Tuesday the shooting happened as the teens tried to buy a cartridge that’s used to vape marijuana from the two suspects — 19-year-old Tyler Coleman and 18-year-old Zachary Hough.

Coleman and Hough were both charged Tuesday with two counts of second-degree murder, armed criminal action and delivery of less than 35 grams of marijuana.

They’re being held on cash-only bonds of $500,000.

Collin Courtwright’s father reacts

Courtwright would “make you smile when you were crying,” the boy’s father, Sam Starns, said Tuesday. “Me and him, we were best friends.”

Starns said the shooting also left one of Courtwright’s teenage friends dead. Another person was injured and in recovery at the hospital.

“He’s got family and friends that love him,” Starns said about his son. “I just don’t believe it, until we’re standing here talking, I don’t believe it. It’s like I’m sleeping.”
