The University of Virginia police in Charlottesville are searching for, Christopher Darnell Jones, a former football player in connection with the of killing three and injuring two in a shooting on campus Sunday night.
The shooting was reported at a garage on Culbreth Road in Charlottesville at about 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, according to the University of Virginia Police Department.
The University of Virginia police said on Twitter that multiple police agencies are looking for Christopher Darnell Jones “regarding the shooting incident.” Anyone who sees him is urged to call 911 immediately and not approach him.
Who is Christopher Darnell Jones?
According to the UVa athletic department website, Christopher Darnell Jones was a former football player who played football for the school in 2018 but didn’t appear in any games.
However, the bio says he was a high-achieving high school student, both on the field and off.
He was 5 foot 9 inches tall and 195 pounds as a freshman.
He played football at Varina and Petersburg High Schools and graduated from Petersburg in 2018.
He grew up in Richmond and played football at two area high schools.
