20-year-old dies after being hit by car in Lenox Township

Officials have released the identity of a victim from a crash Sunday morning in Susquehanna County.

According to state police, 20-year-old Charles Mordent died from his injuries after a crash around 10 a.m.

Mordent and another pedestrian were loading logs into the driver’s side of a utility trailer parked on the right shoulder facing south, along Creek Road in Lenox Township, when a vehicle driving south struck them.

Both Mordent and the second pedestrian were taken to the hospital, where Mordent died, and the second victim was treated for moderate injuries.

Born in Scranton, PA he is the son of Joseph and Rebecca Galloway Mordent.

He graduated from Mountain View High School and the carpentry program in the SCCTC at Elk Lake.

Charles is also survived by his grandparents, James and Wilma Galloway; three brothers, James, Stephen, and his twin, Derrick; girlfriend, Clarissa Muzzy; special Aunts and Uncles Ralph and Judy Welch, Ann Marie Aylesworth, David and Patty Derrick, Steve and Carol Galloway; cousins Jessica, Ashlee, Marissa, Breanna, and Brian; and many other aunts, uncles, and cousins.
