A huntsman from Howell, Michigan, Caleb Shermoe has died, according to his family and friends who paid tribute to him on social media.
Shermoe, of Fowlerville, passed in recent days, according to Nina Aeschliman in a social media post.
“Rest in peace, Caleb! Please pray for the Shermoe family during this heartbreaking time.😢😢 May God wrap his loving arms around them all!” Nina wrote.
According to the East Lansing Police Department, Shermoe died following an assault that occurred in the 300 block of East Grand River Avenue.
East Lansing PD officers were called to the area around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 18th.
They found the victim of the assault and transported him to Sparrow Hospital with help from the East Lansing Fire Department.
Shermoe received treatment for his injuries but tragically passed eventually. ELPD has located and arrested a suspect. His identity has yet to be released.
Another friend, Tony Douglas, shared a post celebrating hunting and how each day out there could be a person’s last.
Shermoe was a serial hunter.
The Shermoe family are yet to announce funeral and memorial rites arrangements for Caleb.
