Off-duty Upstate deputy killed in crash

Brandon Tyler Parker

Officials say an off-duty Cherokee County sheriff’s deputy was killed in a crash Saturday morning.

Cherokee County Coroner Dennis Fowler says that off-duty deputy, 28-year-old Brandon Tyler Parker, was killed in an all-terrain vehicle crash around 2:45 a.m. Saturday. Parker was from Gaffney.

Fowler said Parker was the only one inside a 2023 Honda Pioneer 1000 driving South on Pondfield Road near Gaffney.

We’re told he was driving at a “high rate of speed” when he lost control of the ATV and ran off the right side of the road.

Fowler then said he was ejected and hit several trees. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

He was found dead at the scene.

This is still under investigation.
