The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) is investigating a shooting in South Nashville that left an 18-year-old woman dead and injured two others early Sunday morning, December 1.
Police responded to reports of a shooting at an office building parking lot on the 1300 block of Murfreesboro Pike around 5:30 a.m.
Upon arrival, they found three injured victims, including Ashley Dominguez, 18, who was critically wounded.
Dominguez and two 19-year-old women were taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Tragically, Dominguez, a rear passenger in the vehicle, was pronounced dead.
The other two victims were treated and later released.
Incident Originated at After-Hours Club
Initial reports indicated the shooting occurred in the office parking lot.
However, MNPD later confirmed that the violence started outside an after-hours club in the 900 block of Murfreesboro Pike.
Witnesses told investigators that an argument broke out before shots were fired at a car carrying five people.
The driver of the vehicle drove to the office parking lot after discovering that three passengers had been struck.
Police reported finding multiple shell casings near the after-hours club but no evidence of gunfire at the office lot.
