Bartlesville Police say a 38-year-old man is dead after a shooting Monday morning.
According to Fox23, neighbors said they saw someone run out of a duplex near West Hensley Boulevard and South Morton Avenue toward the alley, then collapse.
Alexander Daugherty was found with a gunshot wound when police arrived.
Police got a call of a gunshot heard in the area at 12:50 a.m.
Officers started life-saving measures before medics arrived and Daugherty was transported to the hospital where he died, police say.
“This appears to be some kind of conflict over drugs, and or money, at this time so we’re still trying to filter through all that,” said Bartlesville Deputy Police Chief Andrew Ward.
Ward said the incident was isolated.
Investigators found one shell casing at the scene.
“There are several witnesses that we’re still trying to identify. There are several people and persons of interest. I guess you could say we need to get ahold of,” Ward said.
People inside a nearby business revealed they gave surveillance video to police hoping it leads to an arrest.
“It is very rare for the city of Bartlesville to have something like this,” said Ward.
Police say through the investigation, Thomas Conway is a person of interest.
