Forest Hill police officials Wednesday identified both suspects sought in connection with a shooting earlier this week that killed a Fort Worth rapper and his young daughter.
Police chief David Hernandez said at a news conference that the men they’re searching for are 24-year-old Adonis Robinson and 21-year-old Jakobie Russell.
“They’re scared, they’re cowards, they’re hiding,” Hernandez said, adding both men are considered armed and dangerous.
According to police, Ronnie Sibley, a 35-year-old rapper also known as G$ Lil Ronnie, and R’mani Sibley, his 5-year-old daughter, were fatally shot Monday about 10:50 a.m. at Slappy’s Car Wash in the 6500 block of Forest Hill Drive.
Police said two Black males wearing blue jeans and grey sweaters exited a white four-door Kia and approached Ronnie’s car, which was parked in a bay at the car wash.
The men then “opened fire” on Ronnie and his daughter before fleeing, according to police.
Anyone with information about the suspects’ whereabouts is asked to call 911. To remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
“We will hold criminals accountable,” Hernandez said. “We’re not going to allow them to come in here and think they can get away with it.”
Aunt said G$ Lil Ronnie had no known enemies: Report
Friends and family have identified the man killed as rapper Ronnie “LilRonnie” Smith, also known as G$ Lil Ronnie, according to local stations WFAA and KTVT.
Smith’s aunt, Stella Houston, said her nephew had no known enemies that she knew of, WFAA reported.
“He was a good kid. He was,” Houston told WFAA. “He didn’t bother noody.”
Smith had around 40,000 monthly listeners on Spotify. His highest streaming track was “Hoodfame Killuminati,” off a 2018 collaborative project with Go Yayo, whose real name is Kyrin Xavier Peters.
